$newsid = ''; ?> It may be too cute to be understood by a wide audience, but the anti-war PAC MoveOn.org has a nifty poster intended for printing and putting in your car window.
Update: This morning I received a message from MoveOn.org urging me to volunteer to help US Senate candidate Ron Kirk, in a squeaker of a race to fill the seat being vacated by Phil Gramm. I plan to vote for Ron Kirk as he'd be a great improvement over Gramm, but I thought it was odd that MoveOn.org was supporting him since he supported Bush's resolution for war with Iraq. Well, it turns out that MoveOn.org isn't strictly the anti-war group I thought it was; it was founded to mobilize opposition to the Clinton impeachment and moved to general liberal/Democratic electoral work after the impeachment. I've got no beef with the idea behind Move On, who seem to have found an effective method for doing grassroots campaigns online, and it's a good sign that they consider the war a popular cause that will stir up voters. But it is a bit misleading to stress the war issue so heavily and then try to redirect people to a pro-war (or at least mushy-on-war) candidate.
Meanwhile, if anyone wants to support a Texan in Congress who's shown real guts in speaking out against Bush's war, check out Austin's own Lloyd Doggett.
