$newsid = ''; ?> On Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree discussion board I asked the innocent question, What's your favorite place in Mexico where you were the only gringo in sight?
It earned me a few flames, which I guess is par for the course at the Thorn Tree, but an equal number of interesting war stories. To my surprise it is also a highlighted link on the top Lonely Planet page! Surely that should be good for a free guidebook or other LP swag?
Meanwhile I'm thinking of a quick trip to Mexico right after Christmas. My Spanish is so overdue for a booster shot that I'm even considering enrolling in a language school for a week, as much for the accommodations with a host family as for the classroom experience. There are schools which will be open that week in my old favorite Oaxaca and in Morelia, a nice town that I've never seen. Further suggestions welcome.
And if I can stretch my finances that far, I may go back this summer with the girls in tow. Most likely destination for that trip would be Guanajuato. Watch this space.
